Going Home

Saturday - May 6, 2017

We wake up and decide to hit up some of our favorites in Diagon Alley again since we don't have its awesomeness at home (sobbing).  We do Gringotts, buy souvenirs, and wander around to take it all in.

We  go back to our room to check out, and have the luggage services people hold our bag so we can go back to the park again.  Because that's how we roll.  Then we ate sandwiches at the Hollywood Boulagerie and people watched for a while.  Our flight wasn't leaving until 5:30, so we figured we'd leave between 1-2 to get to the airport in plenty of time to return our car.  Johanna also wanted to see if we had time for some southern BBQ before our trip ended.

The one thing she wanted to do was find a secret ode to Fantastic Beasts that she saw online.  It was in the New York area of the park and it's door with The Blind Pig on it - like the speakeasy in the movie.  We wandered and wandered and finally found it!

See???

And for context, gifs from the movie:

my face looks like a weird goblin face

After losing my SECOND pair of glasses at Epcot the day before (I swear that Epcot is the monster eater of sunglasses, because I lost the pair I traveled with, bought a replacement pair, and promptly lost those on our second Epcot day), I purchased another pair of cheapie sunglasses from Universal to make it home (and though they were cute, they were cheap indeed, breaking within a month of purchase at home) along with another cool mug pour moi.  We reluctantly waved goodbye to the park and left.

new cheapie glasses!  One last selfie

Being still full, and deathly afraid of missing our flight, we opted not to head to BBQ, and instead used the lounge passes I bummed off my dad to hang out at the very nice United Red Carpet Club instead - where we had delicious food and snacks and found comfortable seating and could charge our million and one devices.  Because the plane had no good food, we carried our snacks we had purchased earlier in the week at Target with us in a snack bag that I sorta made Johanna carry.  But because we are gluttons, we ate a bunch of food in the lounge too.

Fortunately, our ride home was uneventful and we arrived in time.  And our luggage didn't get lost!  Because my parents dropped us off, her family (except for her mom, who was preparing a huge Korean feast for her at home) came and picked us up - and her poor brother was drafted to pick up our luggage for us and drag it over and put it in the car for us.  We spent a pleasant 45 minute ride back to my house with us recapping our trip for her family (sigh).

We were tired, I was sore despite the 8 million Icy Hot patches I had slapped on myself - but it was really a fantastic trip.  We barely got rained on, we hit everything we really wanted to hit - the weather was fantastic for the most part - and we had so much fun.  We were truly blessed on the trip - and we still talk about it all the time.  In fact, we talk about it so much we planned another one in two years.  Because life NEEDS another Walt Disney World vacation on the books to be interesting!
